Actually, I avoid the issue with CO as well as Media Pro. I use the Canon EOS utility to download files. Then I move to MP, then to CO 6. Not the way I really want to proceed, but it avoids crashes and lockups.

Jim - thanks for your reply. When you use the Canon EOS utility to download your files, that means you connect the camera directly to the PC - correct??

    Thanks.

Yes, I connect the camera directly when I use the 60D.
With my older D60, I removed the card and used Windows Explorer to copy them to a new folder on my hard drive. I then moved to my processing software.

In the past I would copy all of the files with my SanDisk card reader to a session folder on the hard drive then have C1 move them into the program. I never had any issues doing this way. I have been creating a session a C1 first them using the C1 import feature which it where C1 holds and don't release the card so I can't Safely Remove it.

I am doing to start copying the files directly into a session folder like I did before.

    Thanks.

This is still the safest way to handle your files. Anytime you use a 3rd party package to "import" files, you run a greater risk of losing them in the event of a crash or lockup.
