Script to find raw equivalent of selected jpegs
Hi
I'm using MP on my Mac as part of my DAM processes and am looking for a script to speed things up.
I shoot in my EOS 40d in RAW plus fine jpeg, the logic being I use the jpeg where I am happy with the shot as is and the RAW if I'm going to improve it in Photoshop. A lot of my shoots are at air shows or motor sports, so I take a LOT of shots and discard 90% of them! So I go through the jpegs, for speed of loading in MP, and highlight the ones I don't want to chuck in a green label. I then have to manually go through the full set and highlight the raw .cr2 equivalent shots in a different colour. I then delete everything which remains unlabelled. This can take a while, so I was wondering whether there is a script that will search for all the .cr2 files where the file name minus extension is replicated in a highlighted set?
So roughly speaking:
Select all filename.jpg where label=green.
Select all filename.cr2 where filename.% in set (Select all filename.jpg where label = green)
Set label = blue
Is this possible in applescript? I've never really had cause to use it before....
Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Hi Tim,
Try this script.
It selects all the media of the same name (without extension) which at least one is green label (number 2).

Here is:
MP_Select_Same_Name.zip0 -
Daniel2 - You're a gent, thank you very much. But.....
May be I'm being a bit thick here, but it selects all the files with the same name - regardless of tag/colour.
I was hoping it would take all those tagged green (or I'm my case 8 - light blue) and select the raw files with the same name (so I could then tag those).
A work around would be if I go through and do my selection, I'd have to remove the other (unwanted at the moment) jpgs from the catalogue, then "select same name" then re import all the removed jpgs , but there must be a better way.
Is there any way of copying the tags 1-9 from the jpg and apply them to the RAW files of the same file name? (If this is possible it would be life changing for me - No exaggeration there)
or
Finding those tagged one colour and finding or select the files with the same name? (which I thought this script would do)
Or does this script do that and I'm not going about it the right way ?? :0)
Or is this something C1pro can do?
Thanks again0 -

It assign labels of labeled (>0) items to all items of same name.

I did and it works a treat, thank you very very much 😄 😄 😄 😄 😄
That has saved me copying all the labels across by hand, and importing unwanted files into C1, thank you so much.
Do you have a paypal account where I could leave a donation?
Feel free to contact me via my website 😊0 -
Hi,
Is Assigned_Labeled.zip still available. The link is currently dead.
I'd love to use this script.0 -
