Local copy and apply
Sorry. I'm sure I'm just missing something here but I am trying to use the "Local Copy and Apply" function in the "Curve" adjustment window to take curve settings from one image and add them to another without having to do a blanket copy and paste of all the adjustments.
Anyway, I don't seem to be able to get it to work as I think it should. I go to the curve window on the image I wish to copy from, click on the tiny "Local Copy and Apply" icon in the upper right hand corner and open the "Adjustment Clipboard" window. Then I make sure the Curve checkbox is checked and click the "Copy" button at the bottom. The "Adjustment Clipboard" window closes and I then select the image I want to paste that curve in to. I open it's "Adjustment Clipboard" window, make sure "Curve" is checked and click "Apply" and nothing happens.
Am I misusing the tool here?
Any input on this would be really helpful. I'm doing custom adjustments on about 300 images and it would be so much easier if I could simply paste in a single adjustment like this.
Many Thanks,
Brion

Brion,
The tool is meant to be used without a "clipboard", so the copy is direct from image A to image B. That said:
Select Image A and make adjustments
CMND+CLICK on Image B
SHIFT+CLICK on the Local Copy/Apply tool
Since both images are selected in this workflow your going from A to B with no intermediary, copying from the primary to the secondary. In your described workflow when you choose the local Copy/Paste there is no primary selected, so you are essentially copying from nothing.0 -
Bingo! Worked like a charm. I knew it was pilot error.
Thanks again.

However I use it with the clipboard quite extensively to quickly pick just the adjustments I want (not having to deselect all the many other settings in the primary adjustments tool) and it works just like Brion was originally attempting. I find this easier than trying to select all the images at once. Instead I can apply on a case-by-case basis as I go through my photos.
I would love to have multiple clipboards to apply various sets as needed (one for each camera perhaps when the folder contains mixed photos, or to handle the cycling of sodium gym lights).0
