Taging RAWs with GPS coordinates
HI,
In the future, it will be very usefull to have Phase One Capture One synchronise directly gps tracks infos and raw shooting time to incorporate gps information into associated Phase One data (.cos, .cop or .cop) and in the exported tiff/ jpg.
In the mean time, the solution is to generate for each raw file (.cr2 from Canon 5d in my case) a xmp file integrating gps data from a gps track and that can be read and exported from Phase One Capture One.
Could you please tell us which software should be used to generate those xmp sidecar files from a gps track that can be read by Phase One C1 and then exported into the tiff/jpg ? 😜
best regards,
Thibaud

Lightroom with Jeffrey Friedl's Geocoding Support plugin will do it -- you have to go through a couple steps to do a write-back, then re-read the metadata from the file. Kind of a pain, but it works.
I did some testing with Downloader Pro (from Breeze), and it now has geocoding support. It appears to write directly into the EXIF as long as you use the .TIF extension instead of .IIQ.0
