Your cleverly customized keyboard shortcuts
Hi!
Since most of Capture One's keyboard shortcuts can be customized by the user (Capture One 9 > Edit Keyboard Shortcuts), I figured it would be interesting to share some of the shortcuts you came up with to optimize your workflow. So if you found a clever shortcut for such or such function, tell your fellow users about it!
Let's start with some of mine. I tend to zoom in and out quite often, so I found the default shortcuts a bit cumbersome. I changed them to the following:
Zoom In +
Zoom Out -
To Fit =
100% *
That way I get quicker access to all my prefered zoom settings directly on the numeric keypad.
Your turn! 😊

The only trouble with your suggested shortcuts is that +, - and * by default are used to set green, red and yellow colour flags respectively. I find it useful to use them for that, for quick rating of shots. But your preferences may vary, or course. You can toggle between 100% and zoom to fit by double-clicking an image.

To mirror the setting of the number keys on the main keyboard to star ratings, I have set the number keys on the numeric keypad to the colour tags:
None NumPad0
Red NumPad1
Orange NumPad2
Yellow NumPad3
Green NumPad4
Blue NumPad5
Pink NumPad6
Purple NumPad70 -

Indeed I seldom use color tags (I rate my pictures with stars), so it was no problem for me. Of course YMMV.
I know about the double-click trick, too, but sometimes I want to go keyboard-only when culling or checking adjustments.0 -
Option-Z to zoom in 100%
Option-X to zoom to fit
They are close together for a quick one hand action
Also as an ex-Aperture user I have assigned "x" to red colour or reject for culling
And also as an ex Lightroom user 😄 I have assigned "g" to toggle between browser and full screen image viewing.0 -

Good idea, except it wouldn't work for me as Z and X are not close together on a French AZERTY keyboard. I would have to use W instead of Z and I'm pretty sure I would mix up Cmd-W (close window) and Option-W. 😊
But if it works for you it sounds like a good time-saving shortcut. Also as an ex-Aperture user I have assigned "x" to red colour or reject for culling
I did too at first, but then I realized I would never remember that *R*ed is X. So instead I assigned CTRL-R to Red, CTRL-G to Green, etc. Since I don't use color tags very often, combining it with the CTRL modifier won't slow me down much.

The problem I see here is that "g" is used by Capture One for "gradient mask". I had assigned G to Green and found out it conflicted with this built-in gradient mask shortcut. So I guess if you assigned it to Browser/Full-Screen you won't be able to use it for gradient mask. If you never use the gradient mask shortcut, of course, that's a different story.
Same goes with "m", "b" and "e" (among others, probably).0 -
One of my favorites is the shortcut to temporarily activate the loupe tool.
option+spacebar for mac
ctrl+spacebar for windows
regardless of what tool you are currently using, this will bring up the loupe tool as long as the keys are held down, then return you to the tool you were using when released.0 -
Yes, but as I already said in another topic, I wish this shortcut could be customized; the feature is great, but I don't like Option-space much. 0
