If you select a photo, and do a "rebuild item" ; does that bring it back? 0 -
alas, no, but thanks 0 -
I have found MP to behave strangely at times; though I continue to like it.
Try copying the files via your Mac OS to another folder. Then "update" in MP to bring them back in. I'll guess that they come back.
There have been times where I removed a folder from the MP catalog, then re-imported it to get them all back.0 -
These files are newly minted.
i've never had problems. Then my back up drive died and I had to
re establish all the data. Now I'm remaking the catalogues, and this.
Anyone?0 -
Is there a solution to this please?
Kinda important since the program is not usable in this condition.
thanks0 -
Did you try to open these images in photoshop to see if they maybe are corrupted?
(You mentioned a died drive)

They are fine. There were even there in MP for a while.
Plus there is that other thread of "bizarre thumbnails"
which suggests this may be an OSX.8.2 associated problem.0 -
Sometimes when I scroll, all the thumbs appear, but if i scroll some more, they all disappear. 0 -
Cant that Drew guy help? Isn't he a professional PhaseOne? 0 -
Drew is from PhaseOne, yes.
But as this is a user to user forum you best log a support call for this:
http://support.phaseone.com and click on "Contact support" or direct:

I sometimes also see this (black thumbnails) when I rebuild items after a change in location of folders. But only for a few images. What I do if a rebuild doesn't work (sometimes it does), I just open the file in photoshop (talking of a tiff file), change a little something (minimal tweak of levels for example), and save the file. Then rebuild and it's OK for Media Pro. Don't know why.... 0 -
I have also experienced this problem. Why does it happen? 0
