CO8 - Cannot remove keyword from multiple photos
Hi,
CO8 64bit build 453
I'am followed instruction on to remove one keyword from multiple selected photos. Keyword has been removed only from first selected photo (one with thick white border), other selected remain untouched with keyword not removed.
Is it a bug or I'am misunderstood something?
Eugen
My first impression with CO8 is great. Better UI user experience (smooth and fast responses) and better sized control widgets in tools. But working with metadata should be better.

Yes, it was. I tried on/off with the same result.

What works for me is to delete the keyword (using the Minus tool) from the primary and then do a Keyword Copy/Paste to the remaining images. 0 -

??? This results that all images have the same keyword assigned. I'am wrong?0 -

I think you are correct. According to the tutorial (not the help file linked to in the original post) keywords can only be added/edited/deleted in multiple images by using the copy/paste function. So it seems as though if you have images with different keyword sets that contain a common keyword - there is no way to delete or edit it without doing it in each image individually. The fact that the help file and tutorial descriptions of the keyword operations are different suggests to me that this capability may not be finalized.0 -
I'm experiencing the same over here in a similar configuration. When you remove a keyword from a picture where your selection is currently based on it also removes that picture from the selection which is in a way logical but annoying.
Furthermore i'm missing also the "No keywords" filter which is described in a tutorial somewhere.
Could it be CO8 is behaving differently on Mac & Windows?0 -

Hi,
if I'm understanding correctly what you're trying to do is to remove a single keyword (wrong) from a set of keywords which describe several photos. So you want C1 to find those photos for which this "rule" applies and do the requested correction. If so, what you want C1 to do is a data base function - for which C1 is not prepared for. However, what can be done is that you search manually one of the photos which you want to have corrected, remove the one keyword, then copy the content of the remaining field (the other keywords) and then paste this corrected set to the photos whose keywording need correction. The search of those photos probably has to be manually, only the substitution simplified. In a first step you could use the stars-system to identify the reffered files which would allow C1 to classify / find them.0 -
There appears to be a difference between the documentation (Help & Tutorials) and the way the program actually works. This leads to a lot of confusion - at least on my part 😄 0 -

The "No Keywords" filter seems to work as you define the filter for the first time but in my experience so far does not work when saved. This has been looked at on anther thread. Hopefully we will see a fix for that anomaly in a release soon. That said if you want to add your observation to a support case and so add to the reported number of cases for the problem it would probably do no harm ...
HTH.

I made a note about this matter and will contact Phase One shortly. Both Mac and Windows version do not align with the online help.0 -
no fix for it until now ! 0
