Bonjour services, is it required?
I recently upgraded from v5.2 to 6.2
I then started to get warnings from my firewall that something called Bon jour service was trying to access the network (or such).
I looked up Bonjour service and in my brief search found out it was often associated with Mac applications and dealt with a network.
As I only use Capture One for image processing of files on my computer (PC) hard drive, and that I do NOT share files on a home network, nor do I use a tether to the camera,... do I need to have Bonjour up and running even when I am not using Capture One and is it possible to safely disable it for good.??
I dislike having un-needed programs running in the background when they are not required.

You can safely removed it. I have done so long time ago. 0 -
This is good to know.
Thanks

If you use Capture Pilot on IPAD or plan to use it you will need the Bonjour service.
Capture Pilot remotely access your Capture One pictures via this service.0 -
I've un-installed it a few times, but the problem is it keeps on re-installing itself every time you update iTunes. 0 -
Bonjour is installed with iTunes, Capture One 6 and possibly other software. If you think you do not need it, just disable the service or set the startup value to manual and it won't eat any resources (assuming that is what you are concerned about). New software or software updates might update it, and sometimes change it startup value, but in general it should be a one-time configuration change. 0
