c1 6.4 d4 develop and phocus develop
hi all,
i was so happy that 6.4 arrived!
next week i'll work with a d800 and i'm going to use c1.
tonight i tried to develop a 6400iso file from d4, with c1 and phocus: here below the link to see a 100% tiff crop.
for my opinion c1 file is simply unusable.

any consideration will be very appreciated

I have found that the presets for D4 in noise reduction is set way way too high.
You could try to reduce those and see if you get a more pleasing result (for 6400 I reduce these to close to zero)

thanks mogens for your precious suggestion, when i'll be back home i'll try for sure.
i'll also develop a low iso file

maybe this article helps http://www.captureintegration.com/2010/ ... n-in-c1-6/ but better use LR 4,
which is what i would recommend for everything above iso 200. i really hope they improve the de-mosaic algorithm and noise reduction with the next major release. the noise structure of a c1 processed file is ugly digital compared to the almost film like results of adobe or other converter like rawdeveloper.0 -
Let's face it the D800 is not good at High ISO anyway.

anyway for my opinion 1600 iso d800 files are good enough, what's the iso limit about you derek?
i used 3ds for two years with great result at 2500, even for clothes fashion catalog, so i'm curios to know the improvements also with d4 (the photographer has a d4 but we didn't used it at high iso so far). digital world screwed us, i don't even had time to do a proper test before or after shooting days!!
