I received a "trial" email today
I attempted to file a support case on this but your server hung after entering the case details. I feel others may be dealing with my problem as well, so I'm posting here too.
As an iView Media Pro (and Expression Media) owner, I took advantage of your free download of Expression Media, providing my iView registration number when prompted. From everything at your site, it appeared this was a free 'upgrade' to Expression Media. (I am a registered Expression Media owner from the Microsoft days as well, but can't find my serial number, so I used my iView number).
Today I received this in the mail:
"Dear photographer,
You have downloaded a 30 day free trial of Expression Media 2. We hope that you have had the opportunity to work with the product and that it lives up to your expectations. "
There was no indication that this was a "trial" download. Was this email sent to me in error?

The download (either EM2 or Capture One) is always a time limited trial, which can be activated with a key. Maybe something went wrong in the process.
From what I have understood, iView/Expr.Media users can get a free Capture One license, and Capture One users can get a free EM2 license. There is no free EM2 license for iView/EM2 users. But maybe I am wrong about that.0 -
Iview owners can get an upgrade tot EM2 by providing their serial number. You can use this link: http://www.phaseone.com/en/Software/Exp ... offer.aspx Click on the link for IView customers on this page to get an EM2 serial number. I believe the EM2 serial you'll receive makes you also eligble to a Capture One license. When you receive an e mail by PhaseOne with a new EM 2 serial number and activate the software you shouldn't be prompted for activation from within the program anymore.
BTW When I download an upgrade version for Capture One I always get an e mail that my trial period ended and if I would like to buy the program. Maybe this is the same situation in that C1 apparently cannot distinguish their clients from their proposed clients.
kind regards, Michel0 -
