Raw files can't open - canon 1dx /capture one 6.4.4
My raw files from Canon 1dx cant open - and I just downloaded the free trial capture one 6.4.4.
I get this
Could not complete your request because the file appears to be from a camera model which is not supported by the installed version of Camera Raw.

That Camera Raw message is not from Capture One but most probably from (an older and not updated version of the Camera Raw plug-in of) Photoshop. You probably double-clicked on an image file and the file type or extension is associated to Photoshop.
Open Capture One, select Express or Pro trial in the first dialog, and in the Library tool (first tool tab) browse to the folder with your images. CO6 will built the previews the first time, and you shoot be all set.0 -
Thanks Paul E
But in capture one - when I click on my folder - the raw file is visible for 2 sec. and then it turns Black...?
Jpegs are shown normal - is it because I only Got the trial version...?
I hope to find some answers here.

Are you trying to view sRaw files? If so, they're not supported as far as I know. Only full Raw files. 0 -
Could be sraw or mraw (reduced raw formats) as suggested, or you had the folder opened earlier with an older version of CO6. In the latter case, delete the Capture One sub folder in your image folder. 0 -
Thank you very much - we are getting closer 😉
Now I can see the files in Capture One 6.4.4 but it has a pencil with a "/" over it - so I can see the image but not edit...
I made a test with RAW, sRAW and mRaw - all of them shows up, but none can be edited...
It is still a trial version of Capture One Pro 6.4.4, that I have downloaded...
best regards0 -
This would suggest that the files are in a folder that you dont have write permissions for. Where on your Hard drive are they stored? If you have an external drive try copying them over to there are then navigate Capture to that folder. 0
