Smart Album Questions
In side a "Catalog" I create 3 groups, Named A, B, and C. In each group I created an Album named A1, B1 and C1 respectively. Now as I know I will be adding additional Albums in each group I want to create a Smart Album that has all my 5 star pics. So my issue.
I go to the group and do a "New Inside A1" -> "Smart Album". A dialog pops up for the "Search Criteria" and "Active Filters" . I hit the "+" then select rating then click on 5 stars. Then click "OK".
Problem,
First it puts it in the "root" of the "User Collects", and gives me the 5 star pictures for all albums, (I thought the reason for selecting "New inside A1" is that it would only do it in the "A1" Group.). Ok can drag it into the group.
Second, How do I get it to only show selections for the group it is in, not all the pictures? (Please don't tell me I would have to make sure all the images in a "Group" would have to have something distinct from any other groups.) All I want is the Smart album to work on the "Group" it is in, not the entire Catalog.
Third, what is the "Active Filters"?

For the record, I am using 7.0.1.
1. This is a bug. Dragging a smart album into the right container (Group) cures it. I will report this.
2. This is the million dollar question. The answer is: Project. A Project limits the search scope within that Project, where a Group does not limit the scope and looks through the entire catalog.
3. Active Filters in the Smart Album (or Advanced Search) dialog relates to filters you might have set, like star rating, color tag. Try this: set a filter in the Filters tool (Library tool tab), no matter whether any image applies, for example Color Tag > Red. Next, create a Smart Album. Now you see the filter in the Active Filters section of the dialog. This way you can incorporate filters into your smart album definition.0
