We miss support for real professionals!
Thank you PhaseOne,
we have a digital back that cost almost 30.000 Euros (P45+) and we don't have real support for the only software that is able to connect to it: C1 Pro!
ALL new Apple computers are Leopard only!!!
ALL new DSLR cameras are not compatible with C1 Pro!
You give us no feedback on features request!
It's almost half a year you DON'T update your Pro software!
Please, STOP it and be more "Professional" with your PRO customers!!!
We pay a lot and we deserve more consideration!
Ciao
Alan

Well said.
I'm beginning to think there are some major problems with V4 or 3.7.8/Leopard support.
I've just got a new laptop and I'm having to use ARC 😭
Come on Phase One just be honest with us pros.....0 -
Hello, we have been honest all along... although I suppose not everyone always wants the honest answer.
As we have stated several times over, 3.7.8 is currently under development, and when it is released will contain many very important fixes for our digital back users as well as Pro DSLR users.
Part of supporting our Pro users is developing our new 4.0 platform. 3.7 is showing its age and it is time for us to move forward. The new platform is capable of being updated Much Much quicker and easier, so support will only continue to improve.
3.7.x is extremely time consuming to update which of course creates a development catch 22. To move forward it was important for us to build a better platform, but continued maintenance on the old delays the new. At the same time, development of the new delays the old. We are getting over the hump and the results will be seen soon.0 -
Dear JonGilbert
I'm not one who ever said you weren't honest. And frankly, I want honest answers.
But slow? That you are!

Ulf Liljegren use the word soon regarding Leopard support. That was a month ago on Dec. 13th, 2 months after the release of leopard. That doesn't make him dishonest.
I mean, in philosophical terms, he is quite right. In practical terms, in particular considering what some people beleive - GOD created the world i six days - 6 days- one would call it slow.
Now, the world in six days! That is what I call expedite and fairly lively! Agree?0 -
Tore,
Can't disagree with you for sure. Although to be fair, God is omnipotent and we are at best a handful Danish programmers. 😊
Let me for a moment explain a little about release dates. Unless an official release date or target release has been announced, we cannot reveal specific time frames as these are confidential. You would find this to be true for almost any company. So what does "soon" mean? Soon generally means that development is coming to a close and the software is going into testing, however if errors begin to show, then development will continue.0 -
Hi JonGilbert,
Thank you for your many responses on this fourm.
I do not run a software company, so I can't possibly begin to tell you how to do your job, but just to add my two cents.
I would gladly take a 6month delay in V4 pro in exchange for 3.78 ASAP.
The 1Ds Mark III and the D3 were announced in August, and released in late November. Leopard has been know about for months before that. I realize that Phase One does usually not get advanced versions of cameras and software, but from a planning & priorities/scheduling perspective, I wish that Phase One would have realized how dependent its customers are on a fully functioning PRO version of their software, and shifted more resources from V4 development to complete the 3.7.8 update in a timely manor, so we can keep working while you continue to develop V4 pro.
again, just my opinion.
Thanks

As I recall, Phase One had officially announced on their website that 4.0 would be available first quarter 2007. It didn't get finally released until the end of December. Maybe they are a bit sensitive about giving out release dates anymore.0 -
As a software developer I know how the process goes and I too would be pretty cautious to give precise dates on new releases.
I would prefer a quick release of a new 3.x.x version even if I would have to wait longer for the v4Pro to be finished as I find the current v4 pretty cumbersome for my workflow.0
