Just my thoughts. How can Media Pro be so slow in showing RAW images, when iView Media Pro was not? And is there any improvements to come (soon)?

Did you try to change the rendering engine in preferences (media rendering) from PhaseOne to Apple (or Windows)?

This speeds up the display of images - surprisingly in my case also with JPG images (the preference option is under a tab called "RAW" ...). PhaseOne built in their (better?) rendering engine, and it's choosen by default. That's the difference to Expression Media (or iView MediaPro) ....

But I am still suffering the slow speed of rendering lager images (it already starts with 2000px files and it's worse with 3000 or 5000 or more ...). Specially if comparing with the rendering speed for example in "Preview" of Mac OS X (no delay if going from one picture to the next; on my MacBook Pro 2,93 GHz/2009 it takes 1-2 seconds in MediaPro with a 5000px-image and the Apple engine, and 5 seconds with the PhaseOne engine – in media view with JPG. Both is way toooooo long!!!!). And I hate the first-rough-then-fine-rendering of JPGs ...

WHY CAN'T IT BE SO FAST AND SMOOTH LIKE IN PREVIEW?

Some file types will not show up if you cahnge it.
I have and still slow. I am sticking with my ACDSee Pro4, super fast and very solid.
until Mpro has a solved update.
