Completely moving from Lightroom
I am making the move from LR5 to C1P.
I have already imported my lightroom catalog to C1P and it seems to slow down the system (I'm on a new iMac)
I currently have the images that are on my machine in the catalog as well as the entirety of my external hard drive (100k+ images) I don't always need access to my external, but I like having it accessable within my DAM program
I'm wondering if I would be better off making a series of different catalogs.
Or if anyone else has any other suggestions I'm definitely open to other ideas!
Thank you all for your help
James

I have just been through the same process.
After the import everything slowed down. Then i tried the "Verify catalog or session" and everything is now
as fast as before i imported my 26K images.
Although i only have 1/4 of your images, it might be worth to try it out.

I don't see where having several smaller catalogs would be a problem. I would guess that things would speed up quite nicely.0
