mac book pro,Leopard, C1 Pro 3.7.8 and Canon EOS 5D tethered
Hi, i would like to tell of my first experience shooting tethered with a new mac book pro running leopard, C1 Pro 3.7.8 and an EOS 5D, i was using a cable to connect to the mac. Half way thru the shoot i had to change batteries, when i put the fresh batteries in, i no longer had a connection to the mac.I tried everything.. wiggling the cable , trying another cable , closing C1 Pro and starting (which i did 3 times) again as a last hope i booted the mac up , but i couldnt get C1 Pro to connect to my camera, i had to continue the rest of the shoot on CF card to much annoyance. Does anyone have any similar experience and or does anyone know of a solution?
2 days later i re-connected the camera to the macbook and hey presto it worked....but i have a funny feeling that as soon as i get in the studio and start to work it will dis-connect again....this is not a good start for a new system ! and does not give me confidence. I have been shooting tethered with C1 Pro 3.7.6 and lower plus a windows XP note book.for a few years now and have never had a problem. Why now with the mac .....is it leopard?
I must say thou, i prefer the mac version of C1 Pro to the windows (same ) version. is there any reason why they arent both the same?
thanx

Have you read the Leopard thread in this forum? You might find some answers there since it discusses Canon tethered shooting with Leopard 10.5.2 in particular.
CO3.x Win and Mac are different. Don't know exactly why, but with CO4 Phase One has brought them in line.0 -
Thanx Paul Steunebrink, i took your advice and found a fix, which works.
delete the file “Type8Camera.app†from the /System/Library/Image Capture/Devices/ directory.
this works in my case cos i don't use Aperture.
thanx again
Paul
