Canon 1Dx tether connection lost in vertical orientation
I'm having trouble with Canon 1Dx tether connection being lost in vertical orientation. The camera tethers fine using Capture 7.0.1 in Mac OS 10.6.8 as long as I shoot horizontal or even vertical if the usb port point up toward the ceiling. But if I turn the camera to vertical orientation with the usb port toward the ground the connection is lost. I am using the Canon coupling devise to hold the cable in place and there is no movement of the cable. I have also tried multiple cables, ports on the computer. I have also tried turning off the Auto Rotate function on the camera. Still the connection is lost when shooting vertical the way the camera was meant to.
Please help with suggestions.

Despite your efforts to keep the cable in place, I can not resist the assumption that a physical issue (a.k.a. gravity) is playing fool with you (and the camera).
Note that only the slightest disconnection (milliseconds) is enough to break the connection to Capture One.0 -

Have you tried a different cable? (Or even a different body?
If you use the Canon software do you get the same result? (I'm assuming they have something that works on a Mac.)
