Take catalog from Mac on the road with PC?
My catalog and images normally live on my Mac.
I would like to take all my photos and catalog with me on the road, but on my Windows 10 laptop:
is this possible?
The idea is to work on the catalog and existing photos while on vacation, and also add to the catalog more/new vacation photos. Then when back home I'd want to transfer everything back to the Mac.
So far I have tried copying the mac drive with my photos and catalog onto a portable NTFS drive.
When I try to open that on the Win10 laptop, ... well I don't think it is really working ... but maybe it is still processing something in the background to make it slow?? (~60k+ photos)
So I am not sure what to do next.

Use a session on the road.
Do you really need to take your entire catalogue with you? How often do you edit (unplanned) older images when travelling?
Alternatively use a PC in the office or a Mac on the road.
The challenges you have likely revolve around operating system differences and as such using the OSs of two different systems both of which are subject to continuous development of a non-complementary nature, may lead to a perpetual battle for you to keep abreast of the changes the OS developers push out.
That said, there are other threads in the forum about this topic. It comes up quite frequently so a quick scroll (or a search) through the lists should allow you to discover the information most often offered.
HTH.
