What is number above Primart Variant icon
Running C1 Express 6.2.1
Edit All Selected Variants ... is enabled.
The Primary Variant icon (in toolbar) is orange (as expected).
When I select several images and make an auto adjustment to all of then, a number (in white) appears above the Primary Variant icon in the toolbar. After several seconds, the number disappears. This has happened twice (once the number was an 8, the next time it was a 9).
I checked the help file, and searched these forums, but I could not find an explanation for that white number just above the Primary Variant icon.
I assume that the number has something to do with the variants being processed .... but I could not find any documentation that explained what the number meant. I had selected significantly more than 8 or 9 images to be processed, so I know the number does not represent the count of images being processed.
Can anyone help explain the meaning of that number?
Thanks!

This is the number of images you have selected, and the action you are about to take will apply to.
Are you certain it wasn't '9+' implying you have more than 99 images selected?0 -
Thanks Drew.
I was indeed selecting many images (in one case 83 and in another case 95). But only the first digit (8 or 9) in the number of images selected was being displayed.
The problem was caused by my setting the font size to 125% (I am running Windows 7 ... to set font size, go to Control Panel > Display). My eyes aren't what they used to be, and I need a bigger font.
However, setting the font to anything larger than 100% causes problems in some applications.
Previously, I set the font to 150% and the slider (that controls the size of thumbnails) at the top-right of Capture One's browser pane would not display at all. I lowered the font size to 125% and the slider was displayed.
Apparently, the tiny icon above the Primary Variant icon, is not large enough to accommodate more than one digit (when text size is set to anything larger than 100%). I changed the text size to 100% and can see two digits in the icon.
Hmmm ... just had a thought. I wonder if (with text size at 100%) the icon could display three digits. I'll do that experiment and report back here ....
... as you inferred in your post, if more than 99 images are selected, the icon will show 9+ (with text size set to 100%).
However, if one has the text size set to anything greater than 100%, then only one digit will appear in the icon. I'll open a support case. Would be nice if a bit more room was allocated for various graphics in the UI so that us old folks (with poor eye-sight) can use larger text sizes and not loose functionality.
Thanks again for your help. Once I realized that the number in the icon should be the count of images selected, the cause of my problem became obvious (having already experienced similar problems with a few other apps as well).0
