Capture One 8.2 Vertical streaks with Wacom tablet
When painting on a local adjustment layer using a Wacom Graphire 2 tablet, vertical paint streaks appear at irregular intervals. These streaks run from the area that I'm brushing all the way to the top of the image. This does not happen when painting with a normal mouse. The same tablet works fine in other software (e.g. Lightroom or MS Paint). I tried another tablet (I have two) - the same thing happens. Is there a solution for this problem?

Hi,
I have had this problem and found that it rectified itself after I installed the latest Driver (version 6.3.11w3) and removed ALL user preferences ... use the Wacom Tablet Preference File Utility.
Also make sure that Windows Ink is set on in the Wacom Panel and Press & Hold is activated in the Control Panel.0 -
Hi AiDon,
Thank you for your answer. I guess that I would also have to get a new tablet then, as the driver you mention is for Intuos tablets.0 -
Hi,
My apologies as wacom hasn't released a driver since 2010 for that version. I would still play around with the Control Panel setting and turn off Press & Hold in the Pen and Touch settings.
It seems to be an issue with the Windows pen and wacom interfaces as the same thing happened with the earlier Intuos drivers.

Hi,
It took me a while to try your suggestion, as my trial had expired. Today I tried it again with the 8.3 trial.
Unfortunately, removing all user preferences and/or changing the press-and-hold settings does not help.
Anyway, thank you again for trying to help me!0 -
I've got the same problem. been there on all releases of cop I've had (7.something, 8 thru to current).
the stripes can be horizontal or vertical. I've done the whole uninstall/reinstall of the wacom drivers to no avail.
My observation is that it seems to occur when moving the brush across high contrast areas - but not always (sigh, not readily reproducable)

In the Wacom Tablet settings application called Wacom Tablet properties you must select "Use Windows Ink" under the Mapping TAB.
Also, every time a driver is installed you must remove ALL user preferences ... useing the Wacom Tablet Preference File Utility.
Now, for me, works properly on Win 7x64/8.1x64 and Win10x640 -
This is how i solved it in windows 8.1:
Disabling windows lnk makes sliders work perfectly, but it causes those horizontal/vertical lines when using local adjustments.
To fix those random lines disable window's "press and hold" option in pen and touch settings. After that using sliders with windows lnk option on works on capture one.0 -
It seems like I managed to fix this problem. I installed Wacom driver 6.1.7-3 for USB Tablets.
Though this driver officially does not support the Wacom Graphire 2, it appears that it does work - and without vertical streaks! The "Enable press and hold for right-clicking" setting is disabled by the way...0
