Noise reduction and other settings

Please forgive my lame question. But when a image is brought into Capture One, certain settings are automatically applied correct?

For instance, Noise reduction is applied automatically whether it is needed for that particular image or not.

As with sharping also?

This is probably common knowledge. And I noticed that sharping is automatically applied, but I added the noise reduction panel and noticed those settings were applied also.

So if I have an image that doesn't need any NR, and it's applied automatically, does the NR affect the image negatively in any way?

Again, forgive the lame question.

    Good question. Yes, sharpening and noise reduction are applied to the default values set in the program. You can either change the default values and/or create a preset that is different from the default values and apply these to your wishes.
