    Alex,

There isn't a "cache" or any "scratch" files. Everything is stored in a catalog and you have full control over where this is stored.

Like most other applications it probably does store temporary information in a location of its choosing but you have no control over this. On Windows this would be in a "hidden" area of your "Documents and Settings" folder. However it should be tidying this information up. It also uses this area to store your vocabularies, scripts and other preferences etc and this can't be changed.

    Hi Ian,

thank you very much for your quick and detailed answer,

I'm working with Mac OS X.7.2 (Lion), and media pro saves the caches here in the user/library folder on the startup/system hd (here a ssd), so i would wish to do not load this ssd with these temporary enormous large files,

for example, in the Adobe Bridge i am free to use a external hd for the cache folders, desirably in media pro,

    nevertheless: thank you very much,

    best regards,

    Alex
