Migration from LR & Virtual Copies
Hello,
I am about to migrate a catalog from Lightroom to Capture One. One thing I am not sure of is what to do with my Virtual Copies in LR. I have several copies I’d like to keep. My thought was to export them and TIFs then import them back into the LR catalog. I am wondering what others have done and if I want I am planning makes sense.
Thanks

Importing the TIFFs of the virtual copies is probably your only way to go - other than manually recreating variants and editing them to be like the LR virtual copy. Likely having the TIFFs available would be a good idea. If you ever did want to edit slightly you could at that time decide to work on the TIFF or create a variant of the original RAW file and start over in C1.
Here is a post I wrote on my experience making the move.
[The Capture One forum has migrated to a new platform, as a result all links to Capture One related postsstopped working and have been removed]
Edit: I should have mentioned I am on Windows but the LR catalog to C1 catalogue issues are similar enough.0 -
Thanks, that is what I wound up doing. Fortunately I did not have many virtual copies or the ones I had could be deleted. 0
