Firewire troubleshooting?

Hello all: Have several desktop workstation PCs running CO7, am using IQ180. Cannot get connectivity after trying all the usual suspects, cables, adapters, restart PC, restart IQ180.

In this case its a new FW PCI card with FW 400 and 800, and the ports are supplying power and work on other devices.

My other PC runs fine with CO7 and IQ180, but uses a different FW adapter card. Unfortunately the flavor of PCI bus prevents swapping.

I looked on the web for a FW debugging utility, there seem to be none at all.

Anyone else have these issues? Open to any utilities or tips to debug.

  Hi,
  
  I would check with Phase One on adapter (in)compatibility with your IQ back. If I am correct there is a KB article with compatible FW cards.

  Hello Paul, adapters are StarTech and Vantech UGT-FW210. KB art has only a few for W7, The Vantech is very similar to what I use:
  
  FireWire 800 3-Port PCIe 3-port FireWire 800 (2x 9-pin, 1x 6-pin) PCI Express x1 card Part #: NN-E38012-S3
  
  PC in question is using the Vantech.
  
  I discovered it DOES seem to work if the camera is connected on a single FW cable but fails to connect via a repeater (Granite).
  
  The same setup works fine with or without repeater on the other PC with a Startech FW card.
  
  Why can this be?

  Hard to say what causes the different performance. Perhaps it would make more sense to consult your dealer and/or open a case with Phase One support? They have so much experience on this.
