white balance
After several crashes when trying to set up the prefs I´m facing another problem: I can´t adjust the white balance manually.
It´s no problem to make use of the pipette but when I try to make some changes to these values c1pro7 jumps back to 4828 Kelvin. No way to enter a higher value manually. The slider has also no effect whatsoever.
It´s no problem to enter values below 4828 …
Bug or feature?

Can you please provide details about your system and the files you are trying to edit?
A support case with a File attached would be very helpful.0 -
Hello Drew, sure: I´m working with a MacPro 2x2.4 Mid 2010 with 12 GB RAM and a ATI Radeon HD 5770. The OS is 10.7.5.
The camera files are Leaf AFi II 10 mos-files.0 -
by the way: There are no problems on my MacBook Pro 15" Mid 2010, Mac Os 10.7.5 … 0 -
I am having similar problems. White balance sliders are either not working or the settings make no sense for the white balance that was set on the camera. Example, white balance was set to daylight on Canon EOS 650D when the image was imported to Capture One the settings in the white balance as shot are as follows. Kelvin 3681 Tint +100. The tint slider should only have a range of -50 to +50. On some images the Kelvin slider will start to change the balance and than suddenly the white balance goes extremely green.
I also have a Canon 40D and so far it seems to be working correctly as far as white balance settings are concerned.
This happens on both of my computers. Mac Pro 3.33 6 core (Westmere) 2010 ATI Radeon HD 5770 running 10.6.8 and a MacBook Pro 13" Early 2011 Intel HD Graphics 3000 running 10.7.5.
I have done the sdk work around on both of these computers. On the MacBook Pro I tried it with and without the sdk update and it made no difference.0 -

I´ve just removed the @- and ©-signs from the copyright and user informations in my Leaf AFi back. This was a suggestion from Yair to solve another problem I had with the EXIF data of my data back.
The action has not only solved the problems with the EXIF data, but did also eliminate my problems to adjust the white balance.
Thanks to Yair.0 -
Sorry to say that, but the white balance problem has not been solved. I´m sorry for the confusion I might have caused.
I´ve just come back from a shooting and tried to adjust the colour of the photos and *bang* there it is again: "Kelvin" doesn´t accept any value higher than 4828.
So, I think I´ll return to CO6.0 -
Hi there,
happy to see you´re working on CO7; just downloaded 7.0.1.
Unhappy to see that you didn´t manage to get the white balance work.
The problem´s still the same.
That´s bad.

First off, let me state that I'm a new user to C1 (or at least haven't used it in YEARS), and I haven't seen the exact issue I'm having in any other posts. Since the issue is WB, I thought I'd piggyback on this one, so apologies if I'm off base.
Our issue with WB, is that it just doesn't seem to "stick" to anything we drop in our server - or even when checking out previews in the capture folder. For instance, while trying to work this out, I opened a file that was supposedly white balanced in a preview window and had the same image up in C1, but the settings weren't saved. Looks great while its selected in the C1 window, but the second I move it and open in PS, there's no adjustment. I have tried going step by step according to this: http://www.phaseone.com/en/Search/Artic ... nguageid=1 - however when I use the eye dropper, the "set" button does NOT work and has consistently stayed 'greyed out.'
I tried going around that and creating presets, however that doesn't seem to work either. I feel like its a user issue 😄 and ANY help would be greatly appreciated. I have been in circles and at this point, I feel that asking for help is the best step as I'm probably overlooking something SUPER simple...and I'm sure I'll kick myself for missing it.
Many thanks from a newbie!0 -

Are you applying WB to a file in C1 and Exporting that file from C1 to PS, or are you applying WB to a file in C1 and then opening that file, without Export, in Ps(like from finder)?
If you are trying the latter, it doesn't work that way. All changes to files in C1 are nondestructive and kept within C1. You must export the file as a TIFF, JPEG,etc. in order for changes to take effect.0 -

I had wondered if that was the solution! Thank you so much! 😄0 -

You are most welcome. 😎0 -
I´ve just installed C1 7.0.2. and as I´ve already mentioned I´m happy that you´re working at improvements.
But, three months have passed since I noticed this white balance problem – and nothing has changed! It´s all the same with C1 7.0.2 as ist has been with C1 7.0.1 as it has been with C1 7.
Maybe you could give me a hint when you have solved the problem, so that I don´t have to test it all the time …
Thanks.0
