moving C1 catalogue from Win10 to Mac
Hello All,
I am considering moving from Windows to Mac, but am not sure how to transfer my data files. My worry is how to get the path names to my individual image files to match the structure within the Catalog on the Mac.
I am supposing that in my main (and only one) catalog I will simply export the whole thing to an independent catalog. There is the option to "Include Originals" so that the new catalog contains all the image files internally. That should be a snap to then import the new catalog on the Mac. But then, is there any way to export those image files to their own folders on the Mac? Otherwise the Catalog size will be enormous, and every catalog backup will be enormous and with so many redundant copies of the images files. So "include Originals" is NOT the way I want to go.
If I do not "include Originals", then how can I match the folder structure on the Mac to the new Catalog (now on the Mac) so the files can be referenced by C1?
Any suggestions?

Late reply and unfortunately not helpful: I try to share photos and post-processing between my W7 desktop and W8.1 laptop.
To do this I work with catalogs that reference the RAWs without including them. When I export the catalog, I do not include the images.
However, when I import the catalog on the other machine, C1 tells me it cannot find the file. That is normal: the disks and folder structures are different. C1 gives me an option to "Locate" the file, which I do. That's where things go horribly wrong. First C1 completely ignores the fact I have located the file and still considers it missing. Second, I have to locate every file one by one.
As a workaround I tried to export a catalog that includes the images I have worked on. No luck: on import half of the processing steps are missing and the color tags are wrong.
So, like you, I'd like to know what works, because so far I am not impressed. Have you had any luck since your post?0
