LUMIX S1 shadow recovery awful
As a capture one user for years, I’ve always felt that it did everything far superior to Lightroom until now. I traded in my Sony gear for a LUMIX s1 and have been super satisfied with working in capture one until I started pulling up the exposure our shadows. I’m getting awful color cast when it goes past 1.5 of recovery. Thinking that maybe it’s dynamic range isn’t as good as Sony’s I decided to open the underexposed photos in Lightroom, and sure enough it doesn’t give any color cast whatsoever. Will this be fixed in capture one 20 or is there any work around? Hate to give up c1 because of this.

Well this is a User to User forum so you are unlikely to get any sort of directly useful answer unless another user who happens to have an S1 happens to be visiting the forum and sees your post.
There are 2 options I can think of for getting some help.
One would be to save one or two example files on a file sharing service and allow forum users to download them to see if they get the same results as you do and then perhaps find way to improve them.
The second, perhaps better, approach would be to raise your concerns with the Capture One Support Team by creating a Support Case and providing them with some sample files so that they could assess the question, comment and advise.
Realistically is is very unlikely that anyone here would know the answer to your specific question about dealing with the colour cast you perceive when adjusting underexposed S1 files in version 20 and, even if they did, the Non-Disclosure Agreement means they would not be able to tell you. Nor, as a tester, would could they be entirely sure that what they might observe on your behalf would be certain, at this stage, to be included in the release since such decisions are not theirs to make.
I would strongly recommend contacting the C1 team as suggested above. Here's the link.

Scroll, if necessary, to the lower section of the page and choose the appropriate link for the type of support required.

My experience with Capture One over the last 5 years or so is that problems with Panasonic cameras are assigned very low priority.
I have been raising the issue that the lens identification is missing from Panasonic JPGs since November 2015. The supporters agree that it si a problem and should be fixed, but once forwarded to the development team nothing happens. Then the ticket is closed and evryone is happy, except the end user.0 -

Hi NNN636188440361389410,
I just found out about the problem myself. Did you ever get a reply from C1 support? This is clearly a bug! As Grant kindly pointed out to me in this thread ([The Capture One forum has migrated to a new platform, as a result all links to Capture One related postsstopped working and have been removed]), setting the preferences for Exposure > Levels Tool > to separate channels and then run an Auto-levels adjustment mostly fixes the problem.
best,

Just to update the link since Phase One does not provide Capture One support anymore. Capture One does, via this link:
