When the keywords are saved inside the images this is no solution but when the MP database is the only place they live in you could give it a try:
In C:\User\<Username>\AppData\Roaming\Media Pro\Plug-ins\Vocabulary\Default you will find all the 'tag' files:

These are normal txt files, you can edit them with notepad.
I hope this will work...how big can a catalogue be. I have one with about 800 million pictures. Is this going to work right when searching for more then one tags?
This is a very hign number, i think you are going to meet big performance issues at least.
Not long ago (EM) the limits were: 128.000 in 1 catalog. Each catalog could be max 2 Gb.
However, these limits (apparently) no longer exists but my strong advise is to do some extensive testing...

Hello,
Thank you very much for the reply. I am working on a Mac do you know how can i do it in a Mac. I just want to the delete the keywords that are in the historic. Meaning i just want the delete the keywords that automatically appear when i begin writing something.
Thank you!!0 -
I think the 'autocomplete' indeed is drawing from this list. So give it a try with emptying it.
I'm not sure how you can find it on a mac but i think this will work:

1. In scrips menu go to Tools/Reveil scripts folder
2. Go one level higher (into the plug-ins folder)
3. Go into the Vocabulary folder

I think the easier method is to open the Vocabulary Editor via the menus (in the English version I select Media Pro > Preferences > Vocabulary Editor...).
In the Vocabulary Editor select for Vocabulary: Default and for Field: Keywords. All the keywords in your keywords file are listed. Select the keyword(s) you want to remove and click the "-" button in the lower right.
This process edits the same file that you would have accessed using the method described by rmoorlag, but this method is more user-friendly.0 -
Yes, thanks syncrasy, this is indeed an easier method. Stupid i didn't think of it 😊
It's even posible to select all the keywords to delete them together (in windows click te first en Shift/click the last keyword)

Well, Roelof, I didn't even know about the "Reveal Scripts Folder" tool (on the Mac it's called "Reveal Plug-ins Folder"), so you taught me something! (Not the first time.) That tool will come in handy if/when I ever have to upgrade to OS Mountain Lion and/or Media Pro. Apparently in the new Mac OSs the Mac Library folder (Application Support, etc) is completely hidden. 0 -
Hello,
Thank you very much for the help. I realized last week that it was very easy to solve the problem that way. Media Pro > Preferences > Vocabulary Editor...).
Thank you very much for the help anyway:)
