left over images in the Catalogue file

Hi all,

Today I have realized there are left over images in the Catalogue file (once you access through Finder/Show the contents). However once I load the software, there are no images in the internal catalogue (I use reference catalogue), and the trash is empty as well. So the question is why are they there, how can I access and delete them? (I can do it via Finder but that might damage the catalogue itself)
