Dynamics between resolution (ppi) and Scale Width
How can I understand the dynamics between resolution (ppi) and Scale Width?
I.e. I am shooting on A7Rii (42.4-megapixel). I tried outputting with 300ppi, and 10ppi, the finished jpeg looks the same. even the size is very similarly the same.

Set dimensions only (resize)
Highlight the recipe (or, preferably, create a new dedicated recipe) to edit from the list in the Process Recipes dialog.
Go to Resolution in the Process Recipe tool, under the Basic tab and enter the required resolution (e.g., 300 px/in).
Set the Scale fly out menu to Fixed 100%. (Note when any setting other than Fixed (100%) is selected from the Scale fly-out menu, Capture One will resample the image based on the specified resolution and image dimensions.)
In the Process Summary dialog, verify the dimensions in the Size field (e.g., 18.72 x 12.8 in (5616 x 3744 px).
To increase or decrease the dimensions, return to step 2 and enter a lower or higher resolution respectively, and verify the values again in the Size field located in the Process Summary (click inside the dialog, to update the value).
After verifying, click the Process button in the Process Summary dialog to output the selected images

PPI doesn't have an effect on the actual resolution of the file- merely how it's shown by other devices. Think of it as a scale label rather than a hard-and-fast value for the file size or image size. 0 -
Ok on your screen and other devices PPI is limited by the size of your device pixel dimensions ie HD 1920x1080px
Where PPI matters is when you send your image to a design ap. An image output at 72ppi vs 300ppi matters when importing into say InDesign, where it's expecting 300ppi images to give correct proportions. Say you have a 6x4in image and you import it into an A4 at 300ppi it will be in proportion to that A4. But if you import it in at 72ppi, the dimensions will be increased to 25x16.6..
