7.1 on Lion Freezing in background
Whenever I use Capture one 7.1, and it has also been true with the earlier versions of 7. I have to quit it after I am done using it. If I leave the application open, eventually it will be come unresponsive even in the background and cause the whole computer to slow down and become unresponsive. The only thing to do it try and force quit Capture one and then the computer works normally again. I don't know if there is some kind of memory leak or whatever you call it that causes this when it is left open for a period of time. I am not a programmer, I have already turned off the OPEN CL. I was kind of hoping 7.1 would be the one that was working well.

I have Capture One open all day, everyday and can't say I've seen anything like this. For Capture One to "hang" as you have described it would need to do so on a specific task. The question is, what is that task.
A Support Case with LOG files, System Profile and description of your workflow would help us to determine what that task may be.0 -
I actually had C1 "hidden" and forgot about it, I was watching a movie with the dvd player, the whole system became super slow and balky. I tried to bring C1 forward to quit it, but it had frozen, I was finally able to bring up the force quit dialog, C1 (only) was listed as "not responding" after doing a force quit everything else worked normally again. I think I need to remember to quit C1 as soon as I am done using it. I don't have the patience to constantly be trying to trouble shoot it. There is some sort of bug report that comes up after a crash or force quit, but it always says no log found. I thought I would try and leave the activity monitor open to see what was happening, but I don't think I should have to be doing all this, all my other programs work well on this computer. 0 -
I noticed a similar bug. If I have V6.4.4. and V7.1 open at the same time. When I close one, then try to quit the other version, it will hang. In the activity monitor CaptureCoreServer jumps to 100% and then CaptureOne becomes unresponsive.
Seems like this might be specific to 10.7.4, as it does not happen occur on my 10.8.2 machine.
This happens before any cameras are connected, and no images are in the session yet.
I don't know how often this will be an issue in real world use, but I'm just starting to make the transition from V6 to V7 so I'll probably be using both for a while as the bugs continue to get worked out.

Please don't do that. The software's share resources so having both open at the same time would certainly cause issues.0
