Difficulty selecting images

I am having problems selecting images. I click and click on the image but C1 9 won't select the image. If I click on the edge of the image or slighly outsode it selcts the image.

Sometimes it works fine but mostly it does not.

Anyone have experience something similar? Any suggestions?
