Local adjustment not working

I am new in to capture one 2 days ago i tried local adjustment tool by making new layers and it was changing exposure only at certain place where i make the mask

now today its not changing exposure at certain spot where mask it. but its changing in whole picture. i have even made the new layer and selected the layer as well. but still same problem. i tried on different pictures and same problem whatever adjustment i do its doing in whole picture not at specific spot

    Are you using the tools in the Local Adjustments tab (i.e. the ones that have a little paint brush icon next to their names) ?

    Are you certain you're adjusting IN THE LOCAL ADJUSTMENTS TOOL TAB and not in the EXPOSURE TOOL TAB for instance?

    i first select the layer in local adjustment tool and then change the exposure from exposure tab

    i find out what i was doing wrong. thanks for giving me hint of paint brush lol 😊
