version 4 and AMD processors
Hi,
The beta versions did not work on my AMD athlon processor. Now I read that some have success with AMD with the official release, and some do not.
This gives me the impression that it is probably not AMD related.
In other words, can I trust version 4 to work with AMD processors? I want to use my free upgrade, but obviously only when it works...
Thanks,
Bas

When it is installed pick the trial version install. If it works activate it later. 0 -

I was told you don't have any options as far as which update you can use your free upgrade ticket like version 5 and so forth. Your 1 free upgrade has already been cashed in with version 4 no matter which updated version as 4.1 to 4.9. MIght as well activated it even if you don't plan to ever use it again. Too bad we don't have the option to wait for version 5.0 -

Does this mean that I would have to pay for an upgrade from 4.0 to 4.whatever?
BTW, the programme works on my AMD athlon machine!

One doesn't have a choice and cannot go from Photoshop 5.5 to CS3 for only the cost of 1 Upgrade, it ain't gonna happen.
Your UpGrade is for 3.7x to the next chargeable upgrade which is version 4
If you stay with 3.7x for now, and there are UpDates to 4 that fix bugs etc., you can still use your UpGrade since UpDates are always free.
If however you wait until a new version UpGrade beyond 4 arrives, you'll have to redeem your 1 Free and then purchase an UpGrade.

Keith, don't get me wrong, I think PO is very generous with the free upgrade. I just wanted to know whether it would matter when i would upgrade.
Thanks for the answer, now I know...
