Import Photo to Capture One Issues
Hi,
I am new to this forum & Capture One for Mac, so bear with me 😊
I have searched on this forum regards importing existing photos in Photos, (not iPhoto as this is now obsolete) & cannot find any relevance. So;
I have trying to transfer existing photos from "Photos" Version 1.0 (209.52.0) into CO V8, but when I go to import the search box with "Photos Library" is greyed out & I cannot access anything. Any ideas?
Thx Keith

Hi Keith
I can't help directly as I have remained steadfast in having nothing to do with Photos. However, this turned up in a DuckDuckGo search:
In the Pictures folder you have a thing called "Photos Library". Right-click on this and select "Show Package Contents" . You can now see a folder call "Masters". Under that are all your precious images, organised in a folder tree by date."
This suggests that you can access your masters and should be able to export or copy them out of there to another folder
In the last few days I finally gave up on Aperture and exported my Aperture library an album at a time and imported the albums. Exactly how you do this will depend on your decision regarding whether you choose Sessions or Catalog in C1. At first I was a bit unhappy that I couldn't successfully export the whole thing at once (it crashed like a train wreck) but then realised that this was a heaven-sent opportunity to clean up a decade of "stuff".
Main thing is I am totally delighted with C1 and regret not moving earlier. It's well worth persevering with finding a solution to the transfer.
(BTW, if you are using Photos but kept your iPhoto library then it is easy - just save a project or album (or some not too large but meaningful item of structure) and export it. Then use C1's import to locate and import).0 -

Welcome to the Capture One world and feel free to share your experiences. In my signature you can find links to my website with tutorials (Phase One has made excellent tutorials as well, by the way). Good luck.0
