C1 crashing: examples and lost layers
Hello
I have issues where C1 is crashing randomly when doing either of the following:
- manipulating a curve (I believe only when it is on a layer). I click, start to drag the curve. Crash. I am in brush mode.
- drawing a layer -> crash (just happened to me now)
- refining layer gets stuck -> force to quit
And the biggest of all... every time C1 is crashing, layers are being lost! Not even the last layer I was working on... but here I lost my last 3 layers!!! They are gone from the layer pane. And I have an empty layer on one of the former brushed layer.
However, operations on background (sharpening for example) is not lost.
Here what the even log says on startup:
This happens with any of C1 11.x, from 11.0 to 11.2.1.38
I figured out that layers were 'saved' when going back to grid mode, but I cannot do that all the time.
I keep evaluating C1 with the hope to make it my main editor, but things like that drive me nuts.
Do you face the same issues?

I have sometimes had the missing layers problem in the past on previous versions. Just today I have had it again on a session from a few months ago that I opened again. There is a way of recovering the missing layers if you have backups such as Time Machine backups. Go into a time machine backup from a date earlier than today. Find the .comask file for the image in question: it will be in a folder such as Selects>Capture One>Settings 110. Copy the .comask file and paste it into the corresponding current folder in place of the empty one that has been created with today's date. If there are several, I suggest you try it with one image first. In fact my session seemed to have lost all the masks so I copied all the .comask files in one go. (But there was a recent TM backup I could have gone back to if it had all gone wrong!)
