Tethered to a Mac...

    in the past it used to be that I would have to tether into whichever usb port was closest to the power supply (ac connection on mac) those used to have a greater bus output then other ports, but I thought apple fixed that with a firmware update. It could be that some of your USB ports have more bus speed then others..just run a test and tether into each one…see which, if any, your machine gets the most stability out of.

    I strongly recommend using a powered USB hub (Belkin etc) which are inexpensive but really effective. Also, it has enabled me to use a 5 metre extension cable from camera to computer without any issues.

    I haven't had any tethered shoot problems from a Canon 1DX into CO Pro 7.1 since using one.
