Full Screen
I wanted to share something I never noticed in C1 tutorials.
One of the features I liked in Aperture was working in full screen by typing F and getting the tools I needed by typing H. I was feeling frustrated because I couldn’t find the same feature in C1. But then, I clicked on the third button on the right at the top left of the C1 screen and the image then covered the whole screen. Tools and Browser disappeared but then all I had to do was bring the mouse over the arrows that were displayed where they were before (I work with Tools on the right hand side as I am right handed and Browser at the bottom…). For the few like me who didn’t know this, you might like this feature.

Marc, if you go to full screen from viewer mode C1 behaves as you've described but if you go to full screen from browser mode the tools remain on screen permanently and don't auto-hide. You can then switch to viewer mode and the browser filmstrip will also show in the location you have allocated.
I have assigned keyboard shortcuts as follows to aid me in this:
Ctrl+v = toggles viewer/browser modes
Cmd+f = toggles window/full screen modes

Just to quickly add to what IanW mentioned...
CMD+B toggle's the browser on/off
CMD+T toggle's the tool panel on/off.
Personally, I prefer flipping these on/off rather than going into full screen mode. That is mostly due to my extreme distaste for how OSX is handling full screen operations though. I just really dislike how windows act in the current iteration of it.

I have the tools and browser on the side during full screen mode and both will auto hide. The auto hide is very convenient! 0
