Installing C1 on a new hard drive, walk me through it please
I am getting another computer so C1 will be wiped from my old one. Just to feel confident on installing C1 on the new hard drive/computer, could someone kindly walk me through the process!
After spending many hours editing I am a bit nervous of loosing it all !
Back up is currently enabled in C1 and entire pictures folder is backed up via time capsule and also additional eternal hard drives. Can never have enough back ups !
Do I install C1 on the new computer, create the new folder location, then import into C1 as a new catalogue and I assume there is a function to select to copy all adjustments/variants ? Or is the correct way to import from the backup that C1 does ?
The old hard drive won't be wiped until the new one is up and running, so I will have C1 on two machines for a while, until I know the new one is working !
Many thanks 😊

I assume you have:
Old computer
CO8 installed, run one or more catalogs, image are imported to catalog, referenced.
After you are finished with new computer, deactivate CO8 to release the activation for use elsewhere (you have 2 activation on a standard license).
New computer, to do
Install CO8. You can activate right away, or use your 30-day trial, and activate later; this does not affect functionality of the program.
Next, restore your catalogs and referenced images from backup or external drive.
Next, open your catalog in CO8. Your images and adjustments should all be there but they may be in an offline state. No worry, once your original images are in place, you can perform the 'Locate' command from within CO8 to connect to the original files.
Note: there is absolutely no need to import again.
Note: do not be nervous as it will create problems, instead of solving them
Note: make a small test catalog on your old system and migrate it to your new one; play with it and see what happens; have fun with it while you discover the process0 -
Excellent, many thanks Paul 😊 0
