I'm curious who are CO4 testers (or is there really such thing)? and I like to volunteer to be one.

I'd also like to suggest those who complaint a lot ( in a good way, of course ) to be testers too. It's obvious that only few of us who really complaint about the bugs which are very basic to me, as a day in / day out user of CO4.

The way CO4 crashes is BIG time for 4.6 such that I 've been sitting here (Sunday) the whole afternoon trying to render some file for my client tomorrow. It's been 4 hours and I only have less then 10 tiff out of 477!

This sort of issue should be put to STOP asap! Since I've been using CO from 377 up till now, I don't really see the so call testers doing a good job! I like CO and I cannot live without it. Can someone from CO, please listen? Appreciate.

    ( I used to be a computer analyst/programmer before I became a pro photographer)

    Anyone up for this? TQ

Not sure the "complainers" have time to be testers.

Are you using 4.6.1? If so, I'd go back to 4.6.0. I did that yesterday and no longer am crashing the program with every operation.

You can sign up to the beta tester program within your profile settings on the Phaseone website, where you set newsletter settings.

And NN is right. 4.6.1 is only for p65+ users. For the rest of us 4.6 is (more) stable.

    NN, James,

Thanks. I've reverse it to 4.6 and it still crash!

Not after I remove all the cache, batch queue and plist; then reinstall the 4.6 it becomes stable. As soon as I launch the 4.6, the updater ask if I want to upgrade to 4.6.1 That's where my mistake was to click that button and cost me 6 hours of panic!

    Thanks again for your reply.

    Hi,

I appreciate the tip about reverting to 4.6. While in retrospect I can see that this was supposed to be a P65+ only fix, there was no warning that it would NOT work with other backs. The crashes are much less frequent now, but is anyone else experiencing increasingly slow performance during a period of work? I find I have to quit every so often to speed things up again. Quitting other applications such as Bridge seems to help too.

When reverting to 4.6 I had to re-apply lens calibrations in some sessions.

Generally, I would have to say that the software still behaves like a Beta version. I have only just started using 4.6. I stuck to 3.7.9 for as long as I could, but then I thought 4.6 was finally the finished product. It is not yet, and I have lost several hours of work dealing with its shortcomings. However, I can see lots of improvements and eventually it will be a more powerful tool.

    James,

NOP! There's nothing I can check or notify PO about volunteer as Beta Tester for in my profile setting in the www.phaseone.com website. May be I'm not qualified.

The 'sign up for beta tester' option appears when you download Capture One, after you entered your mail address.

I must have miss something here. Sorry to trouble you.

Just checked. It was at the login screen; removed now as you stated. Apparently sufficient testers.

Maybe they should start again as I've still no idea how C1 pro got released in it's present form 🙄

I'm STILL waiting for templates so I can caption all my pictures quickly in C1 and not having to use Bridge.
