Well, with a bit more research I managed to find the answer. So, here for those others who stumble across this problem, I found an earlier post, by Paul E. Steunebrink, in the version 5 forum here:-

    viewtopic.php?p=35173#p35173

and my directory path to put the unzipped profiles in, for Windows 7 64 bit install OS and Version 6 64bit install, was:-

    'C:\Program Files\Phase One\Capture One 6\Color Profiles\Common'

Then as Paul E. Steunebrink suggests, close C1 and reopen it then in the 'Color' Tab (three circles icon, third in from the left), 'Basic Characteristics' tabette, you should find an 'ICC profile' pull down, and on that menu an 'Other' option, under which the profiles should appear.

Incidentally, I wrote to JFI, and after eventually finding the correct email address, which was jorge@keyscritters.com Jorge Ituarte wrote back with this somewhat cryptic gem ...."To use ICC profiles with Capture One with different version of Capture One please see your Capture One documentation under "Color Management". If you need further assistance with the use of ICC profile with Capture One please contact Phase One support at http://www.phaseone.com/en/SupportMain.aspx

Hmmm. I expect you can draw your own conclusion as to how helpful that was.

Incidentally, having tried their profiles now - I wouldn't buy them again. A waste of good money, now that Version 6 has its own, far more flexible monochrome conversion facilities. My test show that you can get superior results using just the new features in the application alone - and with that kind of support (if that's the right word) you're on your own anyway. Still, if you've already paid for them, may as well play. If you haven't bought them already, try the new facilities first; then save your money and put it towards another CO upgrade

I didn't get much out of them for CO v5 either.
