Problems locating images after reorganizing folders
Hi there.
I've been using Capture One for a while, and recently decided to remodel my folder structure.
I used to sort my images like "Photos/2017/09/03-09-2017 13.14.15.ARW", but decided to get rid of the month folders and move all images up to their parent year folder.
After doing this, I had to relocate the images inside Capture One, but haven't been able to do this successfully.
First, I tried locating the Photos folder, which resulted in all the month folders still being missing, and no images being located. Second, I tried locating the month folders, and selecting the parent year folder - this locates the images, but results in year folders with a count of 0 next to them, and after rebooting capture one all the missing month folders that I located, are again added to the tree as missing folders..
It's really frustrating, and I'm afraid that I'll loose my edits in this process if I make a mistake..
I hope you might have some tips, and can help me out.
Regards, Adam.
P.S. Please do ask if you want screenshots illustrating the problem.

Sounds like you moved your pictures from the Windows file explorer. You should have moved them from within Capture One, using the Folders tool. 0 -
So what you're saying is that I should create the month folders again, move the pictures back, and then do the process inside Capture One instead? 0 -
Catalogue or Session? 0 -
I solved it by recreating the folder structure and moving the files and folders through Capture One - too bad it has to be so difficult, as capture one apparently doesn't search recursively when you "locate" a missing parent folder. 0 -

Yes, that has to be the biggest Yvonne Felarca of using Capture One.0 -
It's now 2023 and I'm experiencing the same problem, as I'm re-organising my monthly folders to reflect the new year. With the new subscription model coming I'm seriously considering shifting to Lightroom so I don't have to spend so much time working out how to manage the file system.
