Previews are generated once and stored in the image's folder Capture One / Cache subfolder. CO4 is capable to run fine on your hardware. Provide more details about versions, raw files, etc.

    Hi Paul

I'm running latest version , and raws are from sony A900 .

color picker does strange things too , like selecting proper color but showing another

and every thing I do takes seconds , 4 or 5

I installed again but the same .
is there a way to uninstall other than deleting program an folders .

    Any help will be welcome

    Thanks

ok , now everything better but , still slow

Could it be because I have 3000 raw in the same folder , so then I'm running out of RAM in my system ?

I'll divide in smaller folders and see .

    cheers

    James,
I think you followed the correct procedure for a slow system: the uninstall according to the KB article and limiting the number of images in a folder to < 1000 (maybe < 500 even better). Whether you run out of memory is easy to determine with Activity Monitor (Programs / Utilities) but sounds plausible.
You might want to add the image folder(s) to the session Favorites, maybe it helps.

uff , how I moved folders with reallocate , in aperture , I lost all the edit inf in C1 , but I copied de capture one folder in the old folder to all the new ones and perfect , everything is back .

I'll add all folders to favorites , it sounds good idea . thanks

Next time move folders from within Capture One.

    Conclusion:

I had 2 users on my mac , one where it started up with limitations for the family and then my user , that means both where always active , so this was really slowing down the mac , so I just left my session , and this is another computer , not only with C1 , everything , never thought it would slow things down so so much.

    So , now I'm a man with a new Mac .

Thanks for your help Paul .,

    cheers

I do all moving and catalog stuff in Aperture for my workflow that is as follows :

Import raw in Aperture but not in aperture library y a location where all the pics are divided in camera model , and then in yearmonth/day

process in C1 and pics that I'll use , will go to Tiff to a folder called from C1

import in aperture from C1 leaving files in there actual location.

and perhaps dust removal , some nick software plugins etc and print from Aperture.

for quick family or not such critical pic , I process and print directly in aperture , faster and less space.

This way I have a catalog of all photos on aperture , before and after processing.

Any idea to make it better ?

    cheers

Sounds like a great workflow. I would like to add that if you need moving to move or delete raw images, doing this from within CO4 has the advantage that preview and settings file is moved or deleted as well.

    Hi all ,

I defragmented all drives , 3 days time , and still find it too slow , something must be wrong , compared to other programs , its very slow , it can't be normal .

    Cheers

You refreshed the preference file already? (that is delete it)

I recently reinstalled my Mac entirely, everything running much smoother and faster now. (but not only CO4 was slow.)
