I came across this thread by accident, But I also had the same problems as many here with my iMac5k, I could not figure it out for the life of me what was going on and now I get it, I had a maxed out iMac and my older macbook pro retina was handling the files WAY faster. Looking forward to the Beta. I actually had everything stolen from my studio recently including the iMac but plan on getting another, was debating about getting the MacPro but read somewhere that it is not much faster than the iMac5K....
    Thanks for any updates
    Eric

in my MacBook pro i7 ssd drive the captire one pro is so slow that it is useless. Lightroom works pretty good.
so I hope there will be a fix soon

Can you be more specific? We can't do much with a report saying "it's slow" really.

I have imported images set the images preview to 5120 px but after it is Finnish it can take me up to 30 seconds before i can view the image in 100% view. i have set it to never expire and it does this every time i try to zoom in, trying to go throw images takes about 15-20 seconds often before i can view the image and same with next image etc.

You are running a Macbook Pro, where the largest resolution is 2550, so your thumbnails should not be bigger than that. Setting it any bigger than necessary will also affect performance.
Your issues are likely not related to what iMac 5k users are seeing, but something different.

I am definitely seeing speed improvements on my 5K Retina iMac on the new Capture One 9.2 Beta1 !!! 😄 This is for sure a big step in the right direction and I hope things will only improve as time goes by and can't wait for the final release of C1 9.2 😄

Siggibg, have you enabled OpenCL for display and process and do you work on full screen mode? I want to try to beta badly but am abroad without my computer.

    Cheers,

Yes, I have now enabled OpenCL for Display and it is finally usable 😊 Drawing a mask is still a bit slower with OpenCL turned on than off, but this is for sure a huge step forward in speed and I hope the developers can get it even better before the final release. This beta also seems to be a lot snappier overall 😊

I am sure that having OpenCL turned on should be at least as fast as having it turned off and since I already see good speed improvements I am confident that this will eventually be resolved before the final release! : 😄

It does look faster but while I'm working on full screen, drawing mask is still pretty slow if I turn on the OpenCL, although my preview size is set to 5k

I agree, drawing a mask is still too slow but hopefully the developers can improve it before the final release of C1 9.2. Otherwise the new Beta is a lot faster in every other aspect and finally I enjoy working with it on my 5K iMac 😄

I 'm keeping my fingers crossed for better performance drawing masks since this is the only thing that I can see so far that is still noticeably too slow...

Please remember that you have signed an NDA when participating in the beta. The beta, or any contents of it, are not to be discussed in public.
We really appreciate the feedback, but please do via the official channels, as instructed when downloading the beta.

    Hi Christian,

Sorry about this. Could you please let me know what the best way is to get in touch with you about my findings?

    Cheers,
