Media Pro Importer quits unexpectedly and repeatedly
Same thing happened with Media Pro 1.1, now on 1.2. Whey trying to import contents of DVD I get a repeated crash error and console log entry stating that Media Pro Importer quit unexpectedly. I can post crash error for someone at PhaseOne who knows how to interpret - I don't
Similar to others import speed is very slow - probably/possibly because of the repeated crash.

Do you run OSX 10.7.3? I’m asking as I submitted a support case about this issue and it seems it’s somewhat tied to Apple’s os update. 0 -
Hi, have the same problem. Yes, seems to relate to a recent OS X update (10.7.3). The importer (Media Pro version 1.2.0.54197) crashes from time to time, even if I don't import anything. Had open a support case earlier in Feb 2012 but got no reply from PO yet. 0 -
I am having the same problem. I am using Lion 10.7.3. I use Media Pro to organize screen captures and photos. Pretty much every time I move an image I get multiple notifications that Importer has crashed - even though I am not even importing anything. I did not have this issue while using the trial. Has only happened since purchasing the software. I was likely using 10.7.2x while on the trial so assume it's connected to 10.7.3. Has anyone heard from support on this issue? I filed a support request as well. 0 -
I have the same problem with starting up the software since updated to 10.7.3, I can not start up the software. It worked with 10.6.x without any problems. Media Expression works without problems... 0 -
Has this issue been addressed yet?
Why has it taken so long?
It renders the software un-usable.
If it cant be fixed, remove it from your website.0 -
Same here.
Trouble started when it became MediaPro (no issues when it was iView and Expression Media … )[quote="Mark 24" wrote:

So right !
Or, at least could someone of PhaseOne please let us know what happens.
Also:
I experience frequent crashes (actually: A LOT) and catalogues open as "read only" all the time.
MacOS 10.7.30 -
I also have the same issue; also running OSX 10.7.3. This can happen so frequently, once it starts, that I'll get repeated crashes before I can move the cursor from restarting the Importer application back to Media Pro's thumbnail button. Media Pro had become very stable until this began. Right now, this product is almost impossible to use. 0 -
This issue is still happening. The software is unusable. I had contacted support when I started this thread in Feb and sent them the crash log. They were still looking into it when I contacted them in March. I've contacted them again. So - bad product, bad product support, great consistency!
And yes I was on 10.7.3 but now on 10.7.4 and still happening......0 -
Could you share some data on your system configuration? It seems that has quite a lot to do with it.
I am not seeing any of the problems described above. The only glitch from Phase One i've encountered sofar, is that C1 didn't start after update to osx 10.7.4.
I am also frequently running larg(ish) import batches. While they do take a while somtimes, i haven't experienced any of the crashes described in this thread. Obviously, i'm on a mac.0 -
Not sure what you mean by system configuration
It's happening on two separate computers - an iMac 2008 with Intel Core 2 duo with OSX 10.7.4 as well as a MacBook Pro 2011 (can't access details about processor right now but presumably relatively up to date) with same OS.
I had tried uninstalling and reinstalling but no luck.
The error message generated says something about exception type - EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGBUS) and exception codes KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE at 0xo.....followed by pages of gobbledygook (to me).
Any suggestions welcome.
PS - got a reply from PhaseOne support saying that they are aware of the issue and have posted a beta update which should resolve. Will try and post later with results0 -
I was talking about the general specs of your system, like (like you mentioned) kind of CPU, no of cores, amount of RAM, kind of system disk (SSD or ?). These things generally influence operating system and applications, but many people don't realize that.
But ... all of that doesn't matter when the developers have found a bug somewhere and reproduced it matching your case.
If they indeed solved it, you'll be OK when the update is published.0 -
Spoke too soon. Downloaded beta that was supposed to fix it but it won't let me open it. Says new version has been released (???) and the beta has expired......
I'm on a Macbook Pro 2.4 GHz Intel Core i7 with 8GB RAM and a 750 Gb SATA HD.
This is getting frustrating. Having paid for this by the time I get it working, if ever, they'll have released a new version and want me to pay for it!! 👿0 -

The Beta expired 14 May, i.e. yesterday. I guess there will be another one, or a soonish release. Albeit I wonder about “soon†here, considering the issue was reported early February already.0 -
I contacted their support team and was told "Unfortunately there is no solution until we release a new Beta with a different experation date or until we release the final update. I apologize for the inconvenience."
This isn’t freeware, or even shareware. It's not able to fulfill one of its major functions - the ability to import images.
Frustrating.
I guess I will have to wait for a new beta - not sure how I'll know when it's released.0
