One image, two catalogs

Hi,

Is there a workflow that allows an image to exist in two (or more) catalogs and have all the catalogs show the same edits?

The reason I ask is that I am looking at ways of splitting my image collection into several smaller catalogs and it may be logical for some images to exist in more than one catalogs e.g Catalog Family and Catalog Portraits

    Not in catalogs, because the edit information is stored inside the catalog database.

    With two catalogs open at the same time, it is possible to copy adjustments from a variant to clipboard in one catalog, and paste the clipboard adjustments to a variant in the other catalog.
