Local adjustments Color editor Vers. 7.2.3
Ran into an issue tonight. I have an image with a single adjustment layer. After I specify an area with either the brush or gradient tool and select a color using the Local Color Adjustment tool, the ENTIRE image changes. I can still change the color of the selected area, however the tonality of the entire image has been affected.
Additionally, running in a two monitor setup, I'm running into an issue where the Color Editor tool will not open. If I take it back to the default workspace, in a single monitor setup, it will.

By the way, my name is Jeff Smith...that was my first post here and I did not wish to be anonymous. I assumed that after logging in, my real name would show up here. 0 -
Here is an easy way to see what is going on.
1. Open an image and create a layer
2. Make a mask and click on it using the "Pick Color Correction on Selected Layer Tool"
3. Watch your histogram display change under the "Color" Tab as you select and de-select the color
4. The entire image shifts color almost as if the white balance is changing a couple of hundred degrees0 -
OK, I solved my issue. I had set my Rendering Intent under the Preferences Color tab to Absolute Colormetric. Changing it to the default or Relative Colormetric is the key.
This might save someone else some time down the road. Good night.0 -

I have that same issue with a dual display and created a post about it here:
The reason it doesn't work is at the bottom of the post from Paul E. Steunebrink. It is the screen ruling of your laptop monitor that probably prohibits the Color Editor to open. It is this tool that is sensitive for screen ruling.
My tablet display is 1280 x 800, the external is 1920 x 1080. Capture one has problems displaying the color editor about 90% of the time on the lower resolution tablet though every now and then it did open if I kept fiddling with it. It opens every time on the external display.
My work around if I am running the browser / editor on the smaller tablet and the single image full sized on the external and want to open the color editor, I just float the tool over to the external display to open / use it.
