The session file doesn't store your individual adjustments. Those are located in a subfolder with your image files. So having CO create a new session should be okay. Then just locate your images from the folders tab and the adjustments should be fine, except perhaps the one you were working on when it crashed if the changes didn't get saved in time.

    Ok I checked again.

    In My picture Folder
Wedding XXXX --> CF1 I have all my raw files and a few .xmp files
Wedding XXXX --> CF1 -->Capture One --> Settings50 I have many .COS files which seems to match with the pictures i had edited.

In CP I can see the pcitures they have the famous icon in the lower corner with lines (as far as I understand CP it means edited) but from there impossible to get to the edits and make adjustemnts.
I can create new variants, ... But how do I get back to my previous edits to change my existing edits (less darkening on a layer, ...)

I tried the Promote/Demote Variant that did nothing for me.

That is correct. The .COS files contain your edits.

That is correct again; the icon with lines indicates that the image is adjusted with CO6. You can review and change your edits with the same tools you created the edits in the first place. Tools may be hidden (View menu, Hide/Show tools).

With new/clone variants you can create a new set of adjustments on the same image file. This allows you to create and compare different corrections of a single capture. The order of variants in the browser can be change with the promote/demote variant command.

    Paul,

Thanks for all the details. I knew I was not far off. I was however looking at the original CF folder where I had made minor changes and not the EDITS folder where I had copied the pictures selected for the wedding. I was able to find all my picture edits again

Great Klaus you're back on track.

A general tip: do not work or access your image on the memory (CF) card except for importing. Best workflow is to import from CF to HDD, remove the CF card, continue to edit from HDD. Good luck!

    Paul,

Thanks for the suggestion but I never work off the CF cards.

My workflow is the following :

1.Shoot to CF/SD/Memory Stick (for weddings with 2 cards)
    2. Backup on site or home to external HD for storage
    3. On the PC using Dikiam under Linux import the files (to my photowork SSD drive)
    4. Review and delete all the bad pictures
    5. Select the files in dikiam to be edited and copy/move to edit folder (commercial work I copy/Personal work I move)
    6. Start VMWARE with CP1 edit the files
    7. export files as TIFF or Jpeg
    8. upload for printing, website, client by e-mail, DVD, HD ,...
    9. Move the compelted jobs off to my storage Sever where I have more storage space and security on the files

I also use Crashplan pro to backup my Photowork hard drive every 5 minutes to another server to make sure I don't lose any edits in the case of a problem
