Windows 7 and multiple monitors

HAve you tried (as a starting point)

    Window>Workspace>Dual Monitor ?

This will open the regular screen plus a tool populated of the Viewer (F10 to call this up manually) that will give you separate windows for each of your screens.

You can then rearrange the original editor window layout to minimise the primary image (not sure if you can remove it entirely) and maximise the thumbnails section.

If I understand you requirement from there you may well have to consider setting up floating tools to spread those around the screen but once set up I assume that saving the combination as a new workspace with your own naming convention means you can recall it at any time. If the floating tools idea does not work for you you can re-define the tool menu groups to give you fast access to the tools you regularly use and so at least minimise the effort required to get the tools you need to appear somewhere useful on the revised screen layout.

    Does that help at all?

Yes, you can. View menu, Hide Viewer.

After you have done your workspace arrangements to your likings, save it in a new workspace.

This might be too elementary....but just in case and because Win 7 was mentioned, and COne does not control your monitors even in dual mode...use your video driver to extend your desktop using your Viewsonic as the primary screen (CRT calibration should apply to both and be correct for that screen, although as you say it will compromise the viewSonic unless you have installed dual calibrations)....then drag the viewer window to the CRT in Dual monitor mode (or simply call the viewer from the WINDOW menu)...then save the workspace as said....

Good point Paul, I now remember doing that before - accidentally! 😉
