File bowser hierarchy
Hi,
New user here potentially migrating from Lightroom and having imported many RAW files using LR I have now imported the folders into C1. The existing folder hierarchy goes something like this: My Pictures -> Places -> Boston -> 2017 -> 171009. So if I visited Boston for two days on 9th and 10th October there are going to be two folders at the lowest level containing the files, 171009 and 171010.
In LR in the library module whatever level of that folder hierarchy I click on it displays all the photos underneath. So if I click on "Boston" I see all the photo I ever took in Boston regardless of the year. This does not happen in C1. All the folders bar the lowest level show 0 photos and no thumbnails are displayed on the right in the image browser if I click on any of them except the lowest level folders.
So the simple question is, is there a way to get C1 to behave like LR? Checking the one option I can find to disable folder hierarchy doesn't work as it turns the entire My Pictures folder into a two level view.
Thanks.

Short answer is no.
There are several threads on this subject. It's a trademarked quirk at this point. I think it bugs us all in the beginning, but after a while you may even find it advantageous.
The worst is that it doesn't do recursive scan when adding folders to the catalog. That might get you in for days if playing around with a messy old library.
I assume you started working with a catalog. Have a play with sessions as well; many users prefer that because there's no importing to do.
